A North Carolina girl sold fake social security cards, COVID-19 vaccination certificates, and a driver's license right on her Facebook page. The Charlotte Observer reports that 23-year-old Chaiya Maley-Jackson also created two websites for her company, which she called Diva Documents.
According to the prosecutor's office, in less than three years, Mailey-Jackson earned more than 320 thousand dollars from her fraudulent scheme. During this time, she managed to sell 400 social security cards, eight driver's licenses and six COVID-19 vaccination certificates. In addition, it has at least offered its services in creating digital and paper versions of fake salary receipts, lease agreements, letters of difficulty due to COVID-19, bank statements, as well as various forms.
The girl took an advance payment for her services in the amount of half the cost of the work, and after it was completed, she sent the document in digital form, insisting on transferring the remaining amount. Soon after receiving the money, Mailey-Jackson sent the documents by mail. Payment was accepted via Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, Apple Pay and Venmo.
The prosecution also insists that Mailey-Jackson was well aware of the options for using the documents she produced. In particular, the girl's clients used them to apply for loans, assistance in connection with COVID-19, car loans, apartment rentals, and much more. The girl has fully admitted her guilt and is cooperating with the investigation. She was released on bail, and the maximum sentence can be 15 years in prison.
