Federal Security Service officers have detained a hacker in Tomsk who attacked Russian information infrastructure facilities in the interests of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. A case of high treason was initiated, the accused was taken into custody, the press service of the department reported.
"Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Tomsk region identified and stopped the illegal activities of a citizen of the Russian Federation who assisted hacker groups coordinated by the security forces of Ukraine in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation," the report says.
It is noted that expressing his commitment to the Ukrainian side, the accused carried out hacker attacks of a subversive nature on objects of the Russian information infrastructure. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason), in the form of other rendering of assistance to a foreign state. The accused was detained, and the Kirovsky District Court of Tomsk chose a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody.
An investigation is underway.

It is established that the detainee, using an Internet messenger, joined the Ukrainian cyber division, acting in the interests of the intelligence services of Ukraine, as part of which he carried out computer attacks using malicious software on information resources of Russia, which led to a malfunction of critical infrastructure facilities in the country.
Investigative actions and operational search measures were carried out at the addresses of residence and work of the person involved in the criminal case, as well as his connections, during which computer equipment and communications equipment were seized, and data confirming his anti-Russian activities were obtained.
The detainee was charged with committing a crime under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia (high treason), and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen.
