A DDoS attack from abroad caused massive Internet outages in the region.

On October 27, a large-scale external DDoS attack occurred in Crimea, which affected local Internet service providers. This was announced by Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of the region on information policy.

Digital service operators Miranda-Media and KRELCOM were attacked. Representatives of KRELCOM noted that attacks on the company's resources began the day before in the morning, and currently more than 2.5 thousand IP addresses of the network are under attack by hackers.

According to the Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of Crimea, the cyberattack caused temporary unavailability of a number of services, including Miranda-Media, Krymtelecom and MirTelecom. Technical and IT services of companies have been put on high alert, and urgent measures are being taken to restore the network's health, which sometimes experiences problems. In "KRELKOM" stated that the company's network continues to work stably, and users do not experience drawdowns of communication.

Oleg Kryuchkov noted that all services are taking measures to eliminate the threat and ensure the security of information systems in the region. The situation remains under control, and the Crimean authorities are focusing on restoring the normal functioning of the Internet infrastructure.
